Packing for Chicago

Our trip to Chicago is now fast approaching (we’re leaving tomorrow morning!) so it’s more than time to think about packing. I hate packing last minute, so my suitcase is pretty much ready to go. I decided to pack very light for this trip since I already have a few things on my wishlist and don’t really want to come back with 3 extra suitcases… so here’s what made the cut!

The weather in Chicago seems to be very cold at the moment, but after a quick look at my weather app, it seems that we can hope to experience some mild temperatures during our stay. Therefore, my new Mango trench coat (already seen here) is coming along. This is super lightweight, which makes it the perfect travelling companion.  As far as clothes go, I am packing really basic items. These are really easy to mix and match and take little to no space. Which means more space in my suitcase for new purchases, yay! I am packing a beautiful black top for evenings out, a striped top for morning coffee runs and my favorite pair of black skinny jeans. For shoes, I am taking my beloved Nike Free run to walk around the city all day while staying stylish but I am also packing my Valentino rock stud pumps for fancy dinners. A light scarf, my pair of Stella sunnies and a pair of statement earrings are nearly all the accessories that I plan to take. Of course, my Olympus PEN E-PL7 camera is coming along with me and so are my Bose headphones which are just a dream to use on the plane as they cancel all the noise around you.

I am packing my favorite bag at the moment, my Proenza Schouler PS11, as it is by far the most practical when I am travelling. It was the bag that I used last time I was in Chicago and it was the best pick. I can either wear it cross body or on my shoulder, which keeps my hands free while keeping all my stuff easily accessible. For beauty products, I am keeping things to a minimum since I know that I’ll probably buy quite a few new products while I am there. My favorite scent from Jo Malone is coming along, and so is the Benefit ‘puff off’ eye gel which does wonders on tired eyes. My Bobbi Brown ‘face touch-up palette’ is also coming with me as this has basically everything that you need in it, from concealer to powder. The Tarte ‘gifted’ mascara and the Philosophy ‘hope in a jar’ moisturiser are the last two things in my makeup bag.

So, here I am, ready for a 10 days relaxing city trip! Our plans? A basketball match (Knicks vs Bulls), good food & a lot of walking around the city! Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram & Facebook for daily updates!

Je prépare justement deux posts sur la ville. Un ‘photo diary’, plus perso, et un city guide avec toutes mes bonnes adresses et conseils! Je travaille dessus cette semaine afin de les mettre en ligne le plus rapidement possible!
