Issey Miyake a/w 14

Two weeks ago, I was honoured to be invited to the Issey Miyake show in Paris. It was my first time and I was excited to discover the new collection. And boy, I wasn’t expecting such a show. As soon as the lights went down and two live artists (guitarist Ei Wada and vocalist Chiyako) entered the catwalk, I knew it was going to be big. And let me tell you that this is what I call a show. This is the reason I love fashion. This is the magic of fashion week. The show began with a handful of models who entered the catwalk and stopped in various spotlights. They were all carrying flat little bags that they placed in front of them. They opened them up and took the most insane garments out of it. They then processed to slip them on and all started to walk towards the photographers at the same time. At that very specific moment, I felt goosebumps all over my body and it reminded me how much I love this industry. The collection itself was gorgeous. Each and every garment had a sense of movement in it, and some of the tops and dresses were beautifully moving with the models. The theme “rythmatic forest” couldn’t describe the collection any better. With circular shapes inspired by tree trunks and such light and airy fabrics, I felt like I was transported into another world. My favorite outfit of the show has to be this midnight blue one that you can see on the second photo below.Of course, I’ve included the video of the show at the end of this post, tell me what you think about it in the comment section!
