D.I.Y. duct tape charger

I don’t know about you, but personally, I’ve always struggled with chargers. As far as I can remember, I’ve always misplaced or lost them. A fond memory of mine, is a 11 years old Axelle heading to the camera shop on a Saturday morning, and spending all her pennies to replace the family camera charger that she lost.

Since then, I’ve been doing my best to keep my chargers organized until last Monday, when the boyfriend and I had some trouble finding which chargers belong to each other. I had some duct tape from Target lying around since my trip to Chicago late this summer, so I grab these, a pair of scissors, and voila, new pretty and easily recognizable chargers!
Here are my tips for this project:

  • Use heavy duty tape. I’ve used washi tape on chargers before but I find that they don’t stick enough to stay around. I really like this one at the moment.
  • Match the pattern if possible. That’s what I did on the blue one and now you won’t be able to tell that I had to use two pieces of tape.
  • Cut some slits on the top of your tape to be able to fold them on top of your charger (right where the USB slot is)
  • Use the same tape to color code your USB cable. This way, you’ll never lost it or take somebody’s else.
