My tips for working on the go

I have to admit that being a blogger comes with its perks -being able to work with brands that you love, discovering new places and making friends along the way- but it also comes with a few disadvantages, one of them being that you’re pretty much always working on the go. Whether I am working from a coffee shop in between meetings or turning my laptop on at 11PM in a foreign country, it took me a while to figure out how to be productive on the go. I used to be the girl that always forgot her charger or that never had the right photos on hand… but I’ve come a long way! Here are all the tips that I’ve learned over the years.

Create your bubble

When I am working from home, I’ll usually put on some music, light up a candle and close my office door. This helps me focus on my to-do list while creating a peaceful atmosphere. And while it’s not always possible to recreate that when I am on the go, I usually try to create a stimulating mood. I usually put on some headphones and listen to my favorite playlist and I’ll make sure to have everything that I need on hand so that I don’t have to get up every 5 minutes to get a cable or my notes.

Protect your gear

As a blogger, there’s nothing worse than having your phone, your laptop or your camera break on the go. This has happened to me way too many times so now I always make sure to protect my gear when I am on the go. I was recently introduced to dbramante1928 products and I immediately fell in love. I always find it a bit tricky to find stylish yet efficient laptop & phone cases but this brand ticks all the right boxes! All their products are handcrafted by skilled craftsmen, using only the best materials and full-grain Indian leather. This ensures that your gadgets are perfectly protected for a long time! I personally use the Paris MacBook Pro 13 laptop sleeve and the New York iPhone case. I especially love this phone case as it allows me to keep all my essential cards on me at all times! This comes especially handy if I just want to quickly grab a cup of coffee without carrying my bag with me! Furthermore, the iPhone itself fits into a separate leather case that magnetically attaches to the leather ‘wallet’. This means that you can just carry your phone on its own if you’d like! If you’d like to order your own (or anything else), make sure to subscribe to their newsletter to get 10% your first order!

Carry all your essentials

As I mentioned earlier, I used to be the kind of girl that always forgot to take her charger, an extra memory card or even a camera! Over the years, I’ve come to realize that I needed to create a little pouch with all my essentials. In it, I always keep my laptop charger, a few memory cards, a adapter from SD cards to USB, a phone charger, a pair of headphones and a Lenspen to clean my camera. This ensures that I always have what I need on hand and that I don’t have to go around trying to find a quick fix!

Use cloud services

I can’t even begin to count the number of times that I’ve called Renaud to send me photos or videos that were on my iMac back home when I was traveling… I’ve found myself numerous times away from home stuck because I didn’t have the right files on hand… To avoid that, I’ve downloaded Dropbox on all my devices and I always keep my most important and relevant files on there. This means that I can access my latest photos, my Media Kit or my rate chart no matter where I am! It’s also great to share files with your family, your friends and your colleagues!
